Belen rowers competing in the Head of the Hooch, the largest head race in the southeastern US, didn't return to Miami empty handed. The Wolverine Crew's Lightweight 8+ finished third. Their bronze medal was the first won at the Hooch by Belen rowers. "There was good competition in that category with thirteen entries including a number of crews racing lineups that took full advantage of the Hooch's heavier 165 lb weight restriction compared to the Scholastic Rowing Association of America's maximum weight of 150lbs. that all of our rowers met. We had two entries in that race, one finished third and the other fifth. All our boys rowed well and with that trip behind us it is time to get ready for the spring sprint season" remarked Head Coach Dawn Scott Viyella. Congratulations to bronze medalists Mario Egües, Adrian Gonzalez, Ricky Nuñez, Rafael Andres Restrepo, Joseph Santos, Juan Avila, Fernando Ruiz, Alexander Jasman and Diego Juncadella.
